Green Jasper

Green Jasper is carried as a stone of courage and quiet strength, believed since antiquity to steady its wearer and help stop bleeding when worn into danger. Often known as bloodstone in the trade when flecked with red iron oxide, it carries a dramatic history: Egyptian and Babylonian warriors trusted it enough to carry it into battle, and medieval Christian legend held that its red flecks formed when Christ's blood fell on the stone at the foot of the cross, giving it near-sacred protective status across medieval Europe.
